Durability 2 – The Puffy Lux mattress uses slightly less dense foams which should be durable for lighter sleepers but won’t last as long for heavier sleepers (230lbs+) with nightly use.
Motion Isolation 5 – The Puffy Lux mattress isolates motion very well making it a great option for couples or easily disturbed sleepers
Off-gassing 3 – The Puffy Lux has some potential for off-gassing which should dissipate within a few days of unboxing
Conforming 4 – The Puffy Lux mattress conforms closely to sleepers which can alleviate pressure points and gives the sleeper the feeling of sleeping “in” and not “on” the mattress.
Sex 2 – The Puffy Lux is a very conforming memory foam mattress making it less “bouncy” (responsive) so less ideal for sex compared to other mattress types
Temperature Neutrality 2 – The Puffy Lux mattress is fair in this category which is on par with similarly constructed memory foam mattresses.
Edge Support 2 – The Puffy Lux has fair edge support which puts it on par with similarly constructed memory foam mattresses
Noise 5 – The Puffy Lux mattress will be silent when bearing weight so noise isn’t a concern.

Bed Buddy Report | Findings |

The puffy lux is a single firmness, three layer memory foam mattress that stands 12″ tall and also has polyfoam support core.  My review of the Puffy mattress found that motion transfer and conforming were major benefits. I also found that the softer foams used make Puffy mattresses a great option for lighter and average weight sleepers.

What Type of Sleeper Is Best Suited for a Puffy Mattress?

Based on my customer feedback, the Puffy Mattresses have received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions. Please note that these ratings are subjective, and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a mattress.

As you can see, the Puffy is a solid choice for side sleepers and for light to average sleepers. I am weary of recommending the mattress to heavier weight sleepers as the softer foams likely won’t offer the support they need.

For more information on sleeping positions please see my guides for side, back, stomach and combination sleepers.

My testing process found that Puffy mattresses should also be great for you if…

  • You love the feel of memory foam – sleeping more “in” than “on” a bed.
  • Are a sleeper that weights less that 230lbs.
  • You sleep with a partner and are easily disturbed.

We’re your Bed Buddy!!

Our mission is a simple one: We want to help you get incredible sleep, like a good sleep buddy should. And how you might ask? By not only conducting extensive research into the subject itself, but by personally testing out the thousands of mattresses on the market that claim to improve the quality of your slumber.

We really sleep on our mattress research by testing each for at least a hundred sleeps! We do not just compare features like review blogs, nor collate others’ online reviews, nor do a brief test of one to seven nights. No, our research includes a one hundred consecutive sleep test, so we can say, ‘Yup, this is what we found, because we really slept on it!’

We have no affiliation with the companies we feature, and any advertisements that appear on this website not at our discretion. They are there to keep the slumber party going. The Bed Buddy team takes incredible pride in the work we do. We hope that the reviews, news, and sleep information can help you on your personal journey for better sleep. And the job is fun – it’s not all naps! … sometimes… We love creating content that you enjoy, whether it’s on our site, or our newsletter, which you should sign up for.
