Bed Buddy Reporting On: Leesa Sapira Mattress

Our research includes a 100 consecutive sleep test, so we can say, ‘YUP, this is what we found, because we really slept on it!’

All the details

FIRMNESS 6.5 (Medium Firm)
DURABILITY 4 – Durability for The Sapira appears to be on par with other well-made hybrid models and should last for at least 7-8 years with regular nightly use.
Motion Isolation 4 – The Sapira’s can absorb and isolate motion transfer well according to owners and our internal testing
Conforming 3 – The Sapira’s dual foam comfort layer conforms closer and alleviates more pressure than other hybrids with similar features.
Sex 4 – The Sapira is responsive and bouncy enough for most couples, which is typical of hybrid mattresses in general.
Temperature Neutrality 4 – The Sapira absorbs a minimal amount of body heat and sleeps quite cool as a result.
Off-gassing 3 – Odor potential is low for The Sapira but it’s possible some off-gass can occur. Any smells should dissipate within the first day after unboxing.
Edge Support 4 – Our testing indicates that The Sapira has solid edge support and sleepers won’t have any trouble sitting on or sleeping towards the edge of the bed
Noise 4 – The Sapira doesn’t make noise when bearing weight but there is some potential for noise to occur over time given the use of coils in the mattress.

Bed Buddy Report |Findings |

Sapira sleep is a hybrid mattress created by Leesa that comes in at about a 6.5 on the firmness scale.

My review of the Sapira Mattress found the mix of pocketed coils in the support core and faster-responding Aveena foam makes for a nice additional offering from the veteran bed-in-a-box brand. Using high-quality density foams and lower gauge pocketed coils, I expect this mattress to be durable enough to last at least 7-8 years with nightly use.

I think it’s a great hybrid offering at a very reasonable price point and were equally impressed with the company’s commitment to giving back with their 1/10 mattress donation program and on-going charity work.

What Type of Sleeper Is Best Suited for a Sapira Mattress?

Based on my customer feedback data, Leesa mattresses received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions. Please note that these ratings are subjective and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a mattress.

My testing process found the Sapira should also be great for you if…

  • You prefer the feeling of sleeping “on” and not “in” a mattress
  • You like a bit more “bounce” to your bed which the hybrid design certainly provides
  • If you tend to sleep closer to the edge as the Sapira offers above average edge support
  • You prefer to buy from a company that has a charitable arm of the business

We’re your Bed Buddy!!

Our mission is a simple one: We want to help you get incredible sleep, like a good sleep buddy should. And how you might ask? By not only conducting extensive research into the subject itself, but by personally testing out the thousands of mattresses on the market that claim to improve the quality of your slumber.

We really sleep on our mattress research by testing each for at least a hundred sleeps! We do not just compare features like review blogs, nor collate others’ online reviews, nor do a brief test of one to seven nights. No, our research includes a one hundred consecutive sleep test, so we can say, ‘Yup, this is what we found, because we really slept on it!’

We have no affiliation with the companies we feature, and any advertisements that appear on this website not at our discretion. They are there to keep the slumber party going. The Bed Buddy team takes incredible pride in the work we do. We hope that the reviews, news, and sleep information can help you on your personal journey for better sleep. And the job is fun – it’s not all naps! … sometimes… We love creating content that you enjoy, whether it’s on our site, or our newsletter, which you should sign up for.
