Bed Buddy Reporting On: Leesa Mattress

Our research includes a 100 consecutive sleep test, so we can say, ‘YUP, this is what we found, because we really slept on it!’

All the details

FIRMNESS 5 (Medium)
DURABILITY 3 – The durability of Leesa mattresses should be on par with most mixed foam models — roughly 7-8 years with nightly use.
Motion Isolation 4 – The dense, multi-layered foam construction of Leesa mattresses cuts down on motion transfer to a significant degree, according to owners.
Conforming 4 – Leesa owners say their mattress conforms very closely to help align the spine and alleviate aches and pains throughout the body, though some larger sleepers say it lacks sufficient support.
Sex 2 – Leesa mattresses offer some bounce, but these models may not be responsive enough for some couples.
Temperature Neutrality 3 – The Leesa can sleep hot, owners say, but this mattress is relatively cool compared to many competing foam-based models.
Off-gassing 2 – Like many other foam mattresses, the Leesa is associated with some off-gassing odor, but the smells tend to dissipate within a few days.
Edge Support 2 – Edge support is fair for most of the mixed foam, universal comfort beds on the market. The Leesa is no better or worse but on par with its competitors.
Noise 5 – Leesa mattresses are virtually silent when bearing weight.

Bed Buddy Report | Findings |

Leesa offers a universal comfort, mixed foam mattress that comes in at about a 5 on the firmness scale. The mattress features comfort layers of LSA200 polyfoam and memory foam, along with a supportive base layer made of high-density polyfoam.

My review of the Leesa Mattress found the fast recovering comfort system worked well to both alleviate pressure points and give sleepers less sinkage than traditional memory foam mattresses. Using standard density foams similar to comparable bed-in-a-box brands like Casper, Nolah, Tuft and Needle, etc, we expect this mattress to be durable enough to last at least 6-7 years with nightly use.

I think it’s a solid offering at a very reasonable price point and were equally impressed with Leesa’s commitment to giving back with their 1/10 mattress donation program and on-going charity work.

What Type of Sleeper Is Best Suited for a Leesa Mattress?

Based on my customer feedback data, Leesa mattresses received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions. Please note that these ratings are subjective, and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a mattress.

My testing process found the Leesa should also be great for you if…

  • You suffer from back pain and weigh less than 230lbs. Especially, if you need more mid-back support.
  • You like a feeling somewhere in between floating on top of your mattress and sinking into your mattress.
  • You prefer to buy from a company that has a charitable arm of the business

We’re your Bed Buddy!!

Our mission is a simple one: We want to help you get incredible sleep, like a good sleep buddy should. And how you might ask? By not only conducting extensive research into the subject itself, but by personally testing out the thousands of mattresses on the market that claim to improve the quality of your slumber.

We really sleep on our mattress research by testing each for at least a hundred sleeps! We do not just compare features like review blogs, nor collate others’ online reviews, nor do a brief test of one to seven nights. No, our research includes a one hundred consecutive sleep test, so we can say, ‘Yup, this is what we found, because we really slept on it!’

We have no affiliation with the companies we feature, and any advertisements that appear on this website not at our discretion. They are there to keep the slumber party going. The Bed Buddy team takes incredible pride in the work we do. We hope that the reviews, news, and sleep information can help you on your personal journey for better sleep. And the job is fun – it’s not all naps! … sometimes… We love creating content that you enjoy, whether it’s on our site, or our newsletter, which you should sign up for.
