Bed Buddy Report |Findings |
As one of the most well-known and marketable bed-in-a-box companies, Casper has brought their brand to the forefront of the mattress industry. Casper offers two memory foam mattresses and one mixed foam and latex mattress in its current lineup:
The Essential is constructed with a top layer of polyfoam and a bottom layer of memory foam in the comfort system, and a support core made of high-density polyfoam.
Casper incorporates some innovative techniques and technology in creating the Casper and the Wave models. They are constantly at work to build a better bed.
After collecting extensive buyer experience data on the Casper models, I can happily say customers love these beds. My testing didn’t find any of the Casper models to be exceptional in any one category, but if you talk to most any Casper customer, you’ll hear nothing but rave reviews.
What Type of Sleeper Is Best Suited for The Casper Mattress?
Based on my customer feedback, Casper mattresses received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions. Please note that these ratings are subjective, and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a mattress.
As you can see, the Casper is a great choice for side sleepers, with the exception of larger folks (230 lbs and beyond). I am weary of recommending the Casper to larger shoppers no matter their sleep style, since it lacks the necessary support you need. Our testing found the zoned support system works best for lighter and average weight back sleepers, but most stomach sleepers should look to a different bed for improved midriff and mid-back support.
The Casper is designed as a Medium feel, which might be a bit too soft for larger sleepers. Side sleepers of lighter and average weight should find this bed quite comfortable. If you sleep on your back or stomach, you should stay away from the Casper.
Our testing process found the Casper should be great for you if…
- You have sensitive pressure points that need to be lightly cushioned against. Especially, in your shoulders, hips, and lower back.
- You sleep with a partner and want to limit the movement you feel on the bed.
- You like to sink into a bed and feel it hug around you. The Casper has a significant contouring comfort that absorbs your body’s pressure.
