TYPE FOAM
Durability 4 – Owners claim that Amerisleep AS2 mattresses tend to degrade faster than average for the memory foam mattress type.
Motion Isolation 4 – AS2 mattresses absorb and minimize motion transfer to a significant extent, which some owners say has helped cut down on nighttime sleep disruptions.
Off-gassing 4 – Minor off-gassing odors have been reported for AS2 mattresses, but these smells usually dissipate quickly.
Conforming 4 – The AS2 is firmer and conforms less, but owners claim they alleviate pain and pressure to some extent.
Sex 3 – The AS2 is fairly firm and bouncy, making it responsive enough for most couples.
Temperature Neutrality 3 – AS2 mattresses retain relatively high levels of body heat and, as a result, sleep fairly hot.
Edge Support 3 – Customer reports indicate the AS2 mattress offers little to no edge support, and may prematurely sink at the edges where people tend to sit.
Noise 5 – AS2 mattresses are virtually silent when bearing weight.

Bed Buddy Report |Findings |

Amerisleep is a leading brand when it comes to quality memory foam mattresses.  They offer five different memory foam models, each with a different firmness.

The AS2 (formerly known as the Revere) is constructed with a single layer of 4 PCF memory foam in the comfort layer. The support core has a top layer of ‘Surface Modification Technology’ 1.65 PCF polyfoam and a bottom layer of 1.8 PCF polyfoam.  The cover is made from a blend of polyester, Celliant fabric, and spandex.

What Type of Sleeper Is Best Suited for an Amerisleep Mattress?

Based on my customer feedback, Amerisleep mattresses received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions. Please note that these ratings are subjective, and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a mattress.

For more information on sleeping positions please see my guides for side, back, stomach and combination sleepers.

My testing process found Amerisleep Memory Foam Mattresses should also be great for you if…

  • You have a bigger budget, as the mattress is higher priced
  • You tend to sleep cold, especially on all-foam beds
  • You want a mattress that conforms somewhat closely
  • You or your sleep partner wake up easily due to movement and/or noise

We’re your Bed Buddy!!

Our mission is a simple one: We want to help you get incredible sleep, like a good sleep buddy should. And how you might ask? By not only conducting extensive research into the subject itself, but by personally testing out the thousands of mattresses on the market that claim to improve the quality of your slumber.

We really sleep on our mattress research by testing each for at least a hundred sleeps! We do not just compare features like review blogs, nor collate others’ online reviews, nor do a brief test of one to seven nights. No, our research includes a one hundred consecutive sleep test, so we can say, ‘Yup, this is what we found, because we really slept on it!’

We have no affiliation with the companies we feature, and any advertisements that appear on this website not at our discretion. They are there to keep the slumber party going. The Bed Buddy team takes incredible pride in the work we do. We hope that the reviews, news, and sleep information can help you on your personal journey for better sleep. And the job is fun – it’s not all naps! … sometimes… We love creating content that you enjoy, whether it’s on our site, or our newsletter, which you should sign up for.
