Bed Buddy Reporting On: Allswell Regular Hybrid Mattress

Our research includes a 100 consecutive sleep test, so we can say, ‘YUP, this is what we found, because we really slept on it!’

All the details

FIRMNESS 6 (Medium Firm)
Durability 3 – The Allswell has an expected lifespan of about six years, which is comparable to the average memory foam hybrid.
Motion Isolation 4 – A cotton-padded cover and memory foam comfort layer allow the Allswell to absorb and minimize a significant amount of motion transfer.
Off-gassing 3 – Off-gassing is to be expected from beds with memory foam layers, but the Allswell’s odor potential is no worse than its competitors.
Conforming 3 – The Allswell has a 2″ memory foam comfort layer that offers moderate conforming for most sleepers.
Sex 4 – The Allswell is fairly responsive and should be sufficient for most couples.
Temperature Neutrality 3 – Good airflow throughout the pocketed coils allows the Allswell to sleep very cool compared to all-foam beds with similar comfort layers.
Edge Support 4 – The Allswell’s pocketed coils reinforce the bed well and help minimize sinkage around the edges where people usually sit.
Noise 3 – The Allswell may squeak and creak from time to time, but its pocketed coils reduce noise to a noticeable extent.

Bed Buddy Report | Findings |

The Allswell, another hybrid model, was introduced in 2018. This mattress is built onto a 10″ profile with a polyester/spandex cover quilted with gel memory foam, a polyfoam comfort layer, and a pocketed coil support core. This mattress is ‘Medium Firm,’ making it particularly suitable for sleepers who weigh at least 130 pounds. The coils are arranged with higher-gauge (thinner) springs around the perimeter and lower-gauge (thicker) springs in the center; this helps to provide targeted pressure relief for sleepers, as well as great edge support.

What Type of Sleeper Is Best Suited for an Allswell Mattress?

Based on my customer feedback, the Allswell Mattresses has received the following grades among sleepers of different weights and preferred sleep positions. Please note that these ratings are subjective and that everyone has varying experiences on different mattresses. Sleeper comfort and spinal support are the most important factors when it comes to selecting a mattress.

The Allswell is ‘Medium Firm,’ and offers a balance of conforming and support that makes it suitable for sleepers in the average weight group (130 to 230 pounds). Have thick comfort layers that provide great pain and pressure relief; they also isolate motion well and produce very little noise, making them good for couples.

For more information on sleeping positions please see my guides for side, back, stomach and combination sleepers.

My testing process found Allswell mattresses should also be great for you if…

  • You are shopping on a budget, as both beds have price-points that are very below-average
  • You tend to sleep hot
  • You prefer firmer sleep surfaces
  • You want a bed with a thickness profile that is average to above-average

We’re your Bed Buddy!!

Our mission is a simple one: We want to help you get incredible sleep, like a good sleep buddy should. And how you might ask? By not only conducting extensive research into the subject itself, but by personally testing out the thousands of mattresses on the market that claim to improve the quality of your slumber.

We really sleep on our mattress research by testing each for at least a hundred sleeps! We do not just compare features like review blogs, nor collate others’ online reviews, nor do a brief test of one to seven nights. No, our research includes a one hundred consecutive sleep test, so we can say, ‘Yup, this is what we found, because we really slept on it!’

We have no affiliation with the companies we feature, and any advertisements that appear on this website not at our discretion. They are there to keep the slumber party going. The Bed Buddy team takes incredible pride in the work we do. We hope that the reviews, news, and sleep information can help you on your personal journey for better sleep. And the job is fun – it’s not all naps! … sometimes… We love creating content that you enjoy, whether it’s on our site, or our newsletter, which you should sign up for.
